Global Air Cargo Periodic Report (October 2021)

On December 2, the International Air Transport Association (IATA, hereinafter referred to as "International Air Transport Association") issued a regular report on global air cargo. In October 2021, global air cargo demand continued to be much higher than the level before the epidemic, and the capacity bottleneck was slightly eased.

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the monthly data for 2021 and 2020 have been distorted year-on-year. Unless otherwise stated, the year-on-year results in this article are comparisons with the normal demand data in October 2019.

Global air cargo demand (calculated in terms of freight ton-kilometers or "CTKs") increased by 9.4% year-on-year in October 2019 (international demand increased by 10.4%). The capacity bottleneck eased slightly, 7.2% lower than before the new crown pneumonia epidemic (October 2019) (international capacity dropped by 8.0%).
